I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Great day, some early drama but all got sorted, again nice to see some members piping along.
Massive well done to Rich for doing all the tugging and all his hard work getting her almost ready, also thanks to Will for his hard work as chief atatcher keeping them glider boys in order.
Top day
M

Re: Aero Tow 2013
A shame numbers were down due to another event clash but sterling work by Rich kept things on track and I suspect most had a good day. The cross strip wind, fairly brisk at that, made for some challenging conditions for take off and landing. A few photos to give a flavour of the day
Re: Aero Tow 2013
All good in the end, thanks for the pics Brian, Andy has some video footage of some tows & Gary Badges K9 hitting the deck after the release in his glider failed & subsequent wings giving up the ghost being still attached to the tug as it rapidly descended for the landing.
Mark was trying to get to grips with his bird glider but failed with the normal result of a crash & damage.
He was also doing his best to tame his quad thingy no success there either.
Thanks for all the help to get the motor running (again) Mark for the duff plug & Andy for the pair of new ones.

Re: Aero Tow 2013
Good day all in all - my DG1000 went pretty well, after removing 9 ounces of unwanted lead from the nose! Gawd knows where people get these alledged COG positions from, but that was waaaay out. Steve Prices 4 metre vintage job went very well - I like it!
Thanks to Rich for tireless tugging all day - ooo errr missus, and to all who helped to make the day go well.

That's what it's called when you miss the strip on landing, I crashed several times yesterday
Re: Aero Tow 2013
Fantastic day out I had a pretty good flight with the Graphite, 34min from 1m20s of motor burn. Not bad considering I wasn't really looking for thermals, and was mainly just pretending.
The footage from the back of your tug Rich, is mostly useless. Far too much vibration to get nice smooth images. You can't see Gary's glider give up either, it happens just outside of the frame. It comes back in the frame with the wing folded, but still attached: (click for larger image)
And then it goes out of frame again, and comes back in just as this happens:
