I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Great afternoon but not a big turnout at the field, here's three pictures I got, I didn't shoot many really. One's Mel's, looks like an old three channel jobby which I don't have any details of but I'm sure Mel will be along to fill in some info. I maidened his new "giant" Wot 4 for him and it flew very nicely too, not requiring any trim at all. The other is Danny's foamy which he's busy getting far too much fun out of.

A great day flying. Bit of a low turnout but very nice to get some good stick time

The 3 channel jobby is a Dave Boddington's Tyro, engine is an ASP .15 scratch built from plans.

Now you mention it I started with a Tyro Major + OS 35FP, I'd crash every flight, home cyno, back again, don't know why I didn't take the cyno to the field save a couple of trips, I'm still no better now

When I started we had to boil animal bones to make glue

As a point of interest the Tyro was the first R/C plane I built, it was from a kit way back in 1974 and had a DC Sabre diesel for power which I later replaced with an Enya .09 R/C. following that I progressed to a Tyro Major with a clapped out second hand Merco 35. Ah those were the days.

Personally, I really like this sort of plane. Even in these days of engine development towards larger petrol or leccy and super sophisticated rc, these types of models offer unsurpassed fun for the time, money and effort
