I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Northern Ireland IMAC
The poster says it all, myself and Richie are competing at this event which is IMAC UK's first outside the mainland
Re: Northern Ireland IMAC
The best of luck to you both Brian - flying the flag for RDMFC.
Will be flying at the lakes slope-in that weekend, and then off to Scotland for a few sessions with some "forum friends" around Fort William and the highlands.

Re: Northern Ireland IMAC
Thats because we are by no means top IMAC UK pilots, rookies is what I would say
Re: Northern Ireland IMAC
A week today we'll be on the ferry, and still very little more in the way of practice. Hopefully we'll get a good days flying in on the Friday before the comp. News today from Matt that the sponsorship figure has gone above £4000
Re: Northern Ireland IMAC
Thanks for that John, would've been nice to get some decent practice in, in the three weeks since the last comp I've got one practice session in and I don't think Rich has managed any. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can have a good practice session at the venue on Friday, failing that we'll be damaging a few bottles of Guinness

Just got back to this side of the pond, at this time I'll just say a massive thanks to the Irish posse for a fantastic event, phenominal hospitality and all. I'll post more over the next few days but off to bed now.
Rich got third in Intermediate and I got fourth in a very competative Sportsmans.
Wow what an event

That was my darkest moment from the NI IMAC, if you look carefully the undercarriage is out of alignment, had two flights on Friday first two deadsticks I've had with my YAK, first landing was almost perfect, second got a bounce then on the second attempt hit a rut left from the polo players totally wrecked the right hand side & slightly damaged the left hand side of the fuz.
A massive thanks to Trevor & Matthew Poots not forgetting Dennis McNeil for an excellent repair job, following some flight testing the same evening the engine performed good after some minor tuning so we put it all to bed ready for Saturday, I was second up for known only to have two more deadsticks, a big thankyou to Brian Colclough for the use of his Extra for the weekend & Matthew Poots & judges for allowing me to restart my schedule.
