I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Covering advice please
Need some advice on solarfilm covering please its been a while since I have done it - mainly need help with rounded fuselage noses and open wing tips. (Can't upload pictures at work - but will do later)
Cheers all!
- When doing the wingtips, do I cover the entire tip (top and bottom) in one piece of solarfilm, and then join top and bottom covering to the tip covering, or is the top of the tip covered as a continuation of the top wing covering, and the bottom a continuation of the bottom tip covering - coming together on the outer edge of the wingtip?
- Does the rounded nose section have a join along the bottom?
Cheers all!

Best thing for you to do is have a look at the Solarfilm site. Lots of info and instructions HERE
Best to get it from the 'hourses mouth' so to speak and then develope your own variations to suite your own style of use/application.

Cheers Allan - looked here already and unfortunately the instructions are the standard ones supplied with the solarfilm! They outline basic covering which is pretty straight forward, but say nothing about how to cover fully rounded fuses or open wingtips! This is what I really need the help with!
Cheers anyway!

Re: Covering advice please
On the very limited wings I have covered, I always used a seperate bit of covering for the top and bottom of the wingtip. I put the bottom bit on first, and stretched/ironed it round as far as I could get it neatly (i.e. as few wrinkles as possible) onto the top surface. I then put the top surface on and wrapped that round to get a minimum 10mm overlap for a good join.
As for noses, then the only one I have done took three bits. A bottom and two top bits..... There were seams everywhere, wrinkles were frequent, and the whole thing was smashed to simthereens on its 3rd flight. Luckily the rocket didn't fire too, otherwise there would have been even more carnage....

Re: Covering advice please
Cheers all! - Good find Marty, I hadn't even though of looking on Youtube!
Looking at the wing now im home, I think the best thing is to coverit top and bottom like in the vid - I have only about 5mm overlap avalable on the first rib if I go down the seperate tip route - and you just know its going to wrinkle like an S.O.A.B!
