I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Well, I've gone and done it now!
After more than a few tomato seasons of humming and harring I have eventually decided to rejoin the throng of powered flight!
In a moment of Stella induced weakness I bought a 1/4 scale Sig Spacewalker kit. Don't laugh I've always fancied one.
All and any advice welcome on my return to the noisy side and to RDMC as more than a guest.
Does anyone have a suitable petrol engine they wish to part with?
Looking forward to balsa shavings and blue Summer skies.
Simon.

Hi Simon,
Nice to hear from you. I have a 1/4 scale Spacewalker and it's powered by an Evolution 26cc petrol engine. It fits in the plane nicely and has loads of power. The kits are a great build but do take time. I'm just finishing off the 1/3rd scale Spacewalker and hope to have it ready for the start of this season.

Turns out it is a missprint. It is a DLE 20. Spec says 2.5Hp at 9000rpm. I know it will fly it. But will it be enough?

Nice to hear from you Simon.
I got a second hand DLE 30 for £100, this should be more than enough power about the same size & weight as the 26cc engines, usually come with a dustbin type silencer & electronic ignition so should fit in the cowl.
You must be a glutten for punishment, ARTF is the way to go these days.

Further proof that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing? I didn't know there was an artf option?
I do fancy the idea of building one? But I might change my mind when I open the box?
Either way the DLE sounds good.
'Usually comes with'? Does yours come with its muffler and ingnition module?
I'll be needing a membership application form for the club also? I have BMFA.
Cheers.

I've emailed it to you, if you have your insurance already arranged it's just an associate member plus the £15 joining fee, if you haven't the insurance it's full member plus the joining fee of £15. Include a copy of your BMFA Insurance with the application.
yes they come with the ignition, really depends on the exhaust new you get everything, 2nd hand maybe no exhaust just make sure you check

Make sure it's the latest rear carb version of the DLE 30.
