I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Llysfaen indoor
You want a " 4 in 1 brick" or more correctly the AR6400 combo rx and servos.
They retail unfortunately for around 45 quid - I have a complete, S/H vapor that I am selling for £40 !
Or, if you can find one...the earlier ( without expansion port ) PKZ3351 was fitted to the original Vapors...and you may get those cheaper....around £35 -36 I think.

Err, I meant the "plane" - always used for shaving wood when I was at school.

I thought it was a wood lightening device as well.
The model will be that thing he fleeced Charlie for at the meeting last 2 weeks ago
Re: Llysfaen indoor
Lol! Haven't started that one yet. The present new one - its not quite finished yet - has no carbon fibre in it either
Btw, talking about the model from Charlie, its a Ricktika from Peerless Models. Can anyone throw any light on these? Googling doesn't reveal much at all

Good night last night, Eggs in a curry is a new one on me! I seem to be hovering at my desk this morning though, I wonder if the two are related???

Re: Llysfaen indoor
LOL- yes it was great curry - many thanks to Dennis and his little helpers.
OT - Great idea on the "guide nozzle" suggestion for the CNC machine Andy - I made one up last night ( Carbon Fibre rod ) and by 2AM had it working fine and dandy.

Re: Llysfaen indoor
Matbe I should do that sort of thing for a living Just check the wear on CF rod, the hot wire will probably cause the CF to degrade quite quickly (or more likely, the resin holidng the CF together)...
As I was saying last night, Nichrome is relatively hard, so the bearing material needs to be chosen carefully if you want to maintain a good finish on the "nozzle" section, and minimise skipping and jumping of the wire as it moves. One of the harder grades of stainless steel would be my first choice I think, something like a 321 grade. Or, to ease machining, a general purpose 303 grade would be good too.

Re: Llysfaen indoor
Yes, I know the CF will wear rather quickly - but its what I had at midnight :-)
Turning SS and trying to drill a .75mm hole in it is beyond my limited machining skills Im afraid, so Ive just made a spare nozzle instead. We only have 6 cuts to do that involve such acute angles, so I think it should last that long.
Ive assembled the whole thing in such a way as to make changing the nozzle rather easy - just an interference fit in the bracket. Perhaps Richie / someone could make up the required hard SS version for future use?
I think we may be a tad off topic here...sorry .
