I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

The BUFF
As some may know, I am doing the smaller version ( 11 foot span ) B52 glider from the Simon Cocker plan. A few people expressed interest - some time back - in doing one also, and so far Zaidy is the only one who has committed ( avoid obvious jokes here please ).
We have decided - ( well I have really LOL ) to have the wings done by "foamwings" in Scotland, as they will do a better job than I can, and they incorporate the steel joiners, carbon spars, and glasscloth reinforcement to T/Es etc - PLUS the skinning is vac bagged too.
SO - does anyone else want to commit to building one, as the more wing panels we order the cheaper it gets.
Im just waiting for a final price from Barry @ foamwings,\and Im also just about to buy the foam panels for the fus and tail, which Richie has kindly offered to cut on his sooperdooper laser machine - and again, if more people are building one, the foam gets cheaper.
So... I'll wait a few days more to see if theres any more interest before I hit the buy button. Post here, or PM / email me

Re: The BUFF
for info. the foam is to be cut on a 4 axis cutter not a laser
What are the obvious jokes about Zaidy & bombers then
B52 model gliders I meant, not bombers

Re: The BUFF
Thanks for that correction Richie - I thought it was a 4 axis laser cutter.

Re: The BUFF
What and when would be the cost (or best estimate) Tim?
I did express an interest but had envisages a scratch build however this might be a better bet. Certainly easier

Re: The BUFF
Approx £200 a pair - but we cut out the control surfaces and face off as required.

Re: The BUFF
Lol no he hasn't. It unfortunate that Jem used pink as a way to express his sexual orientation. I guess its time for him to come out.
Re: The BUFF
Was anyone else looking at this thread hoping there was going to be pictures of Billie Piper? No? just me then?!
I'd love to join in on this one, but unfortunately I am now officially poor for the next few years having bought a new house. I can't wait to see the build progress on here though

Ive promised to do a blog on the RCME forum Andy...and its highly unlikely that I will be arsed to duplicate things...but you could, if you wish, lower yourself to "watch" over there

Re: The BUFF
I know...Gary tipped me off earlier.
However, apparently this model has more than its share of problems.
1) The fus is bent
2) The fixed tailplanes are undersize
3) Its like me - grossly overweight
4) The wings are warped.
Well, thats what I think anyway.

Re: The BUFF
LOL- Zaidy already has one in his hangar
Incidentally, its progressing pretty well on schedule. Got the wing to sort out - cutting the wingseat slots etc, and then control surfaces to cut out and face off, hinge, servo install etc, and then finish off the nose area, and fit the engine pylons and wing tanks etc. Then when all the glassing is finished, its down to Marty to advise on the painting. My build thread if anyones wants to follow along is below
Heres where I'm up to, and Zaidy is also doing well too [img][/img]
