I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

I am so impressed with the attitude of the members that I think its worth a mention.I saw today at least two newish members needing help in setting up.Some older, not so much in age but experience , give of their time willingly and of course freely to help...what a great example.Well done gentlemen

I can only second your comments John. Apart from engine setups thanks to Mark and Leigh for maning the buddy box whilst my good mate Brent finaly got to fly his trainer He really enjoyed the day, the flying and the good natured banter
Zaid aka dead stick was at it again and one of his landings was so far away that my telephoto lens could not pick it out. He is seen below thanking the crowd for their support after the long walk back
It is rumoured that a new engine may be in the offing which is good because the old one bit me this afternoon
Mark had half a flight and nearly ended up with half an airoplane when the Port wing blew its covering. Well done Mark for getting it down in one piece.
Richie finaly got to fly after engine tunning duties and a spell on the buddy box.
Brent on the buddy box.
No need to be rude Mark
A good turn out again.
Leigh carries in another dead stick for Zaid.
Andy`s best landing yet
I had some good luck when the tail srvo arm fell off on my Raptor 50 JUST BEFORE IT TOOK OFF. If it had happened in the air it could have totaled the machine. I checked it before flight but the screw must have been working loose and just fell out. Must increase my preventitive maintinance.
Anyway my T Rex 600 flew well.
See you on the field soon

Great days flying helis and fixed wing. Many thanks to Rich for his help in tuning that doomed engine.
And thanks to Dave for being my pit crew in more than one occasion !
But at least I was prepared for it cutting out on me, again, again, again ... I had 5 fixed wing flights, 4 of which ended up with a dead stick..
As usual Dave and the boys were very supportive , especially when I had another dead stick and ended up in Rhyl town center. All in all its been a good day..
All models accounted for and ready for another adventurous days flying and dead sticking ..................................

What a place to be trapped though providing you've got a glider and a battery charger
Re: Sunday 5 th
Here's a nice photo of Tim Mackey's Spit on a low strafing run from yesterday sent to me by John Bowman, excellent results from his new camera

I'm sure the Pilot just winked at me.....
I had a good afternoon too, managing to actually hit the strip just the once with the Komet, and a few chucks of the Mini DLG inbetween the noisey stuff flying
Roll on Summer!
Cheers

Hi all... 'twas indeed a joy to be back on the power site - and I only got lost once trying to find it
Flew my two fav power models in what I consider ideal conditions, OK so the wind was slightly off centre of the runway but no bother, and enjoyed myself immensely.
Spitty had a couple of deadstciks ( most unusual for me - except up the Orme ) and thius was later discovered to have been caused by the entire clunk tube lying in the bottom of the tank ! All fixed up and ready for the next sortie, which I hope will be this Thursday evening - a dusk raid required me thinks to show off the guns and lights a little better
EDF Sabre behaved, as usual, impeccably. Loved the Komet of Andy's although not sure about the formation flying with the Spitfire as requested by John Bowman for the camera
CU soon peeps.
PS flew the Jart this afternoon after her re-build with Andy Ellison and Steve Dorling and co up the Orme - nice fresh 40+MPH westerly - big grins all round. Richie and Roy arrived shortly before I left and seemed to be enoying themselves.

The formation flying was a right laugh! Rather hard work, but jolly good fun!
Your Spitty had a deadstick? A deadstick? I thought it was obvious that the Komet had the upper hand, and shot the Spitfire down.......
Cheers

Oh well, we all now how reliable weather forecasts can be - I prefer to use the hope system.
