I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Thursday 18th - Anyone flying?
Afternoon all. The weather is looking half decent for this evening, so is anyone planning on heading down to the field later?
The current weatehr looking over towards the field from my office in st Aspah is lots of high cloud cover, but still warm, and hardly any wind....

If the rain holds off I'll be down later, at this moment in time it's looking duller by the minute.

Seriously, make me an offer, they are just paperweights at the moment as I have nothing to use them in (and I'm not likely to in the next couple of years too)....
Andy
PS. I should add that they are finished in a rather tasteful light green heatshrink, and come with free Deans plugs......

Re: Thursday 18th - Anyone flying?
No problem. I'll twist the ends together to stop them getting tangled up in stuff....
Quick weather update. Still dry here in St Asaph, but looking ratehr gloomy. The Met office radar shows a band of water bearing cloud moving up from the south west, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get some of the wet stuff this evening, althoug there is next to no wind at the moment, so it might be a while....

Re: Thursday 18th - Anyone flying?
Velcro is your friend I reckon. Instead of using the self adhesive velcro in "tension" as it were (i.e. a bit stuck to the wood and the opposite bit stuck to the pack), use a velcro strap. By that I mean some of that velcro that has the hook on one side, and the loop on the other. Wrap it around the structure, and the packs, and then overlap it. Velcro is immensely strong when loaded in shear. It's no where near as good in tension. There's a video on youtube of a car being towed using a couple of bits of velcro in shear....
