I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
If Will's in agrement we are going to tow again on Saturday or Sunday or both, cracking model the Maul & the engine is so quiet even at full power
Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
Looks fantastic that Rich/Will. I've always liked the Alpina, and I almost managed to convince SWMBO to buy me one of the 5m versions at Weston park last year, until she realised there wasn't a decimal point in the price tag......
If towing is on the agenda this weekend, I could do with a test fire of the new rocket delta off of a tow?

Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
You have to satrt off with either a Tow plane or a glider with a reliable release

Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
So name a few good gliders that work well off a tug job
1) Gotta be transportable in my non hatchback car
2) Gotta be cheap
3) Best if they work on slope too
4) Second hand is fine.

Alpina 4001, excellent alround glider, although not exactly cheap.
Or something like this

Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
Tim, anything you can chuck off a slope, will work as an aerotow glider. The smaller stuff can use a lightweight tow rope that is permanently attached to the model (eg, a bit of strong cotton was used to tow Barnesy's Binary up behined my MPX funcub). Larger stuff just needs a servo operated release up front. I'm sure a man of your talent can bodge a tow release for a wild thing that just tapes on? Come to think of it, a bit of strong cotton would probably do the trick behind my funcub.....

Re: Will and Rich having a good o' tug
Ta guys.... I think the Discus may be more in my budget at the moment - I assume they are plug in wings?
Andy.... I rather fancied a "proper" aerotow type scaley thing, rather than just another lump of foam. The release mechanism is easy enough for sure, but until my winter project B52 is finished, I may well splash a little cash on something like the Discus / Cularis type.
