I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

I'm not surprised that wing joiner bent, it looks like it is waaaay to small for the size of the wing panels.....

Re: Stupily large model
I'm not sure if there aren't two tubes, although still looks like a weak point in the structure
Re: Stupily large model
Even if there were two tubes, it is still a horribly inefficient way of designing the spar/joiner structure in something that large. A blade spar (like the ones you see on full size gliders, and that yak of NFJ's, would be a much better solution in terms of weight, strength and durability. I get the impression that that model is just a scaled up version of a smaller model, and no real thought has been given to the magnitude of the loads being applied to the airframe....
Still, the colour scheme was nice....

Re: Stupily large model
enough said I think, it's also a bit strange how he lost both ailerons as well
Re: Stupily large model
I dunno, maybe it was considered a suitable design for flying right hand circuits. It seems like a bit of a loop was too much for it though
The ailerons could have been lost if the wiring, or plugs/sockets type connections to the wings were lost as a result of the joiner bending....
