I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Just ordered myself a spektrum dx6i and 8 micro RX's from Al's (he has them on offer at the mo, so i can do some indoor flying ) just need some models now looooool

yep i am a Futaba boy and as Rich said its only for indoors so any cheap TX will do ( Spek JR Multipex hitec and the like )

FFS TX just arrived 10 mins ago put batt's in turned it on every thing seemed ok for about 30 sec then it turned its self off, changed batts but still bleedin dead phoned al's hobby's told me to send it back so now iv got the pain of repacking and a trip to the post office not sure if i want another Speky after this

Were the "other" batteries you tried of a rechargeable type?
If so, were they charged? Also, you might find that the battery box on th DX6i is a bit ropey with rechargable cells. The positive contacts on the cells don't project out as much as dry/alkaline cells, and don't make such a good contact with the terminals in the battery box.

+1 to that - I would also properly charge up the Spektrum sent batterys before you send it back just to check! they wont mind waiting a day or so for a return!
