I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

EPP shaping
Dunno if this is the right section? if not would one of the admin bod's move it?
Ok, what I'd like to know is, has anyone tried using a router on EPP foam? I wanna make some recesses in a foam block on a secret project, I'm not sure if the foam will take it or just disintergrate.
Thanks
Marty

Re: EPP shaping
It will take it use, permagrit drum sanders, it does make a bit of dust so either have the vaccum running close to it, I use them when I cut servo boxes or hinge lines in wings just use something to stop it going right through. I you need help give me a call
My router is attached to a CNC gantry router bed

Those look just the ticket, just need to check the size of the shafts in my router.
Thanks for that Rich.

Re: EPP shaping
If you are shaping manually by hand, the coarse Permagrit files work well too. The dust gets EVERYWHERE, and sticks to everything too. Just the ticket for pretending it is snowing outside
By the way Rich, on your CNC gantry, what type of bearings have you got on there? (the ones for the X, Y and Z carriages/gantry)?

Ah, gotcha, a linear ball bushing. I couldn't remember if it used carriages made from normal ballraces acting on a bit of angle iron or not...
