I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Its all the gear out of the Ultra Micro 4Site, 3mm depron, Badley milled out AUW 32g.
Milling was intresting, airframe was 28grm before milling after it was down at 21g, and I didnt do as much as i wanted because i got bored!

Yeah Routing bit in the dremel, very hard to keep the depth constant, but it gose through the depron really easy,I need one of the jig things they make would be loads easier with a constant depth.

Re: BBUM Yak 55 Back Room Maiden
I would have to change the wing spar then for 2mm, Ive been using a 3mm x 0.5 carbon strip on the LE, would proberbly have to change to a 1mm cross brase, no biggi though

Re: BBUM Yak 55 Back Room Maiden
I've actually been wondeirng about using something like 2 or 3mm depron, but cut on the laser with all the lightening bits cutout completely. Then cover the depron with some of the thin laminating film to give you the surface back. So the Depron "frame" gives you the structure, and the laminating filmn gives you the rigidity and aerodynamic surface. Not sure if it would work out heavier or lighter than a simple chunk of foam, but I bet it would be a hell of a lot stronger, and do away with a lot of the carbon bracing that is needed....
Is this the Yak55 that I sketched? I'll have a play with the 3D model to see what the weight difference is if it is...

That's why I would try Document laminating film. It doesn't warp bits of paper
Love the colourscheme, how do you get an airbrushed finish to look like it was coloured in with felt-tip pens?
The MicroAirbender was finished yep, emailed it over on the 22nd feb this year. Will send the DXF for it again now though..
