I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Re: Specktrum RX Re ariel
I think Tim might be the guy to ask Mark having just had one of his smashed mid-combat on the Orme. I do know a repacement cost less than £6 from Webbies.

The receiver aerials are a piece of cake to repair. The little wire whiskers are just plain gauge wire soldered onto the PCB inside the case. The wire whiskers need to be as close to 31.25mm long as you can get. Any deviation from this can have an adverse effect on the sensitivity of the rx (i.e. the useful range).
The hardest part of the repair, if it is one of the hard plastic cased receivers, is getting inside the case without breaking the little plastic tabs that hold the two case halves together.
When it comes to soldering a replacement wire on, I would use a fairly flexible wire to minimise the risk of fatigue breakage in the future. The boards will have been assembled using lead free solder, so ideally you need to use lead free solder on the repair too. If you only have leaded solder available, you need to try and get as much of the original solder off the pad as possible (use solderwick).
Oh, and you need to be pretty adept at soldering to tiny little pads on a PCB. A small soldering iron tip, a steady pair of hands and good eyes is called for.
You did ask...
Cheers

PS. If you want me to do them for you, give me a shout

I was going to say, £6 for a replacement rx aerial is a mental markup on a 31.25mm bit of wire!!
You avatar is still scaring me Brian, I'm probably going to have nightmares now!

No worries. I'll have to postpone the beer until March though. Traditionally, I don't drink in February.......
I'm not sure when I'll be about the next week or so, work is going to be all over the place I fear! If you want to drop them off at my house on your way past though, I'll get them done
Cheers
