I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Ordered these
Ordered these two from Giant Cod to go in a new glider I've got en route from H/Kong They are for my old Futaba FF9
A tad under £40 for the two got to be worth a punt. They do a cheaper deal on the module and 8 channel RX combo but not sure if enough room in the glider I've ordered for the 8Ch RX

Re: Ordered these
I've been wondering about one of them Frsky modules for a while now, to replace the Spektrum as my "cheapy" radio gear... I will be keen to hear how you get on with it

Re: Ordered these
It's called a Speedo ailerons and elevator but I may convert to a rudder as well if it looks feasible

Re: Ordered these
Finally got my Fr Sky module and 4 Ch R/X today after they'd been shipped off by some dozy woman at Rhuddlan Castle(yes you darling) to Denbigh Castle from whence they have returned. Anyway bunged the module in my old FF9 and the R/X in my Wildthing, switched on and bound up no probs at all and seems to function as per the label on the tin.It is by the way a full frequency hopping system. Will report back next time I chuck the W/T off the Orme
Re: Ordered these
Still not flown this yet but have been pleased to find it has "failsafe" function on all channels, has to be a big + factor
Re: Ordered these
Yes I have Rich, there's a reduced power output button on the back of the module and you're looking for 30 metres range on reduced power and I'm getting just over that. The claimed range on the 4Ch R/X is 500 metres and on the 8Ch 1.2 Km on the ground so the 4 should be plenty OK for small stuff
Re: Ordered these
The same module I've got fits the 7 according to their website, they also do what they call a hack module that can be fitted inside non-modular T/X 's
Re: Ordered these
Rich, just had a look at THIS site.
If you want telemetry from this VFM system you may wish to wait.

Re: Ordered these
Gave the FrSky radio gear a good workout on the Orme this afternoon in my Wildthing real good blow and it got cartwheeled across the rocks a few time no problems came back for more specced it out and no loss of signal, well pleased with it to date

Re: Ordered these
Giantcod now have the telemetry version for £58.28 HERE but note that the Rx consumes 100mA as opposed to the standard which consumes 30mA.

Re: Ordered these
Brian,
As you reported no troubles with this system I thought I'd give it a go. So, I purchased a telemetry Tx and rx set plus additional normal 8ch rx. Used it in my Futaba FF8, RX battery A123 cells. Using either rx the system has a distinct dislike for certain servos by causing a pronounced cogging/notchy movement instead of a smooth movement of the servo o/p disc in response to the tx stick movement.
Servos not liked:
1/ futaba S3001
2/ futaba S3004
3/ futaba S3010
4/ supertec naro hp
5/ gws pico
6/ ripmax sd200
7/dimond d250
8/ hitec hs50
9/ towardpro mg996r(digi) - slight cogging
seamed to work OK with the following:
1/hitec hs 60
2/hitec hs 645
3/ hitec hs 5645(digi)
4/ savox sc-0251(digi)
5/power hd 9150(digi)
6/ futaba s9001
7/ futaba fd30m(old but unused/plug changed to fit)
I gave up at this point even though there were more servos to try. All the servos were new. It was on all 4 primary channels(didn't see the point in checking further). Have you experienced any thing like this? Any one care to comment with a technical explanation(Andy, Tim)?
Is this a hardware fault/software fault or a design fault. Either way it's not fit for purpose IMO. Anyone else got a FrSky system had any thing like this???
I've posted this on the big fish forum and hopefully I'll get a definitive answer.

Re: Ordered these
It could be something to do with the voltage output from the A123 cells. If the pack is freshly charged (i.e. up around 7v plus), and the output on the signal pin from the rx is only at 3.3v or lower, then the servos might be complaining at that voltage difference.
It is a big "might" though. One way tocheck for sure, is to try a power supply closer to 5v (say a 4 cell Nimh pack, or bench power supply if you have one?
Other than that, if it is notchy on all channels, regardless of the power supply used, then it does sound like it could be faulty. I would hazard a guess that they are not all like that though, otherwise I'm sure it would be plastered all over the net!
