I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

my inrunner is playing up.Go to full throttle, goes to about 1/4,not enough power to fly .
The ESC is ok tested on another motor, battery ok tested on another set up.Rx ok tested .....

When throttle applied keeps revs for a few seconds then stops, but will not go to full power.Any ideas ???

The motor is a Black Mantis from Giant Cod

Throttle end points!!!
Switch it on with full power the esc should beep saying it is at full, then put it back to idle and it should beep again. my breeze had similar symptoms intill I did the above.

Hope this helps!

Does the motor get warm or hot when you do try to run it?

Sam..tried your suggestion ,no go.
Andy, no not really only runs for a few seconds and then cuts.Thought it was the ESC at first but tried the ESC on another set up and it was ok

maybe one of the windings is open circuit, try disconnecting each of the three wires in turn, see if there's any change

Is the battery fully charged, and up to the job of supplying current to the motor? If not, it could be the ESC thinking the battery voltage is too low, and cutting the motor.

Also, do you have another ESC you can try on the motor, and see if it behaves the same?

Check battery voltage when running the motor (or use different battery) - if you can't do that - then check if is running ok with no load.
Change cut off setting - from hard to soft - if the problem is battery - motor will slow down instead of stopping.
Easy way to check the motor i s:
Disconect it - turn - feel how hard it is - then connect cable 1+2 and turn - you should feel the difference - repeat with cables 2+3 and 3+1.
Unlikely problem is with timming - but you can also check it.

Just another though John, does the motor turn over by hand? Depending on the construction and kV rating, it may be a bit "coggy" or not, but if there is any grinding, grumbling or resistance other than the relatively smooth magnetic effects, then that could be causing an excess in current draw....

John has already said in the above quote that the ESC is Ok as he's tried it with another motor & battery
