I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

I seem to remember Tim saying "Pride comes before a fall!"
Sam I don't want to burst your bubble but if you were a good pilot you wouldn't still be chasing your "A" ......... I think you have the makings but it's like everything else, it takes time and experience.

Re: If you think im young and a good pilot you have to see this guy!
I watched the 8 year old's video but waited for a while to see what comments appeared from the RDMFC forum.
Exremely dangerous take off, far too close to the man kneeling with model just in front. There were other models flying nearby and they were all going in the opposite direction....hardly safe, I thought.
The whole flight was jerky with aerobatics (stick waggling I call it) that resembled knots on a piece of string. Nothing recognisable as a known aerobatic manouvre. The landing was an abrupt arrival. All passengers and crew killed.
The photographer had a hard time following it all.
Not impressed at all.
I would expect you to be much better than that before I would say you were at all a competent flyer.
The "A" test is all about demonstrating to someone else who is approved as competent to judge that you have full control of your model at all times and operate with great attention to safety and the care of others.
Yes I you are young. but I don't necessarily think you are a good pilot.........yet.
The person who does your "A" test examination will decide that. Not you !

Re: If you think im young and a good pilot you have to see this guy!
I can see the point you would like me to accept..
However,I don't.......because............. in Denton, Manchester, on a farm, we had an incedent (not me) where a Vic Smeed single channel Tomboy with a Mills 0.75 cc engine was coming in to land on the glide with a dead engine.
It struck a young girl on the head. She had been horse riding at the farm and had taken her riding helmet off as she walked back home past us. It knocked her out and she was unconscious for many minute. She was rushed to hospital and had suffered a depressed fracture of the skull and particles were embedded in her brain. Unknown to anyone, she had a thin skull. She remained in hospital for several weeks and was still troubled for a few years afterwards.
There are no excuses in this situation.
The 8 year old flier is in my opinion an accident waiting to happen. Hopefully, he may, eventually become more caring and less reckless as he matures. The supervision was pathetic. Until then, whilst people are telling him he is so wonderful, he will just carry on until he injures someone.
The BMFA proficiency scheme is aimed specifically at stopping silly accidents being caused by irresponsible fliers.
It's not a perfect scheme but has come on leaps and bounds since it was started in October 1978.
