I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

This is just a teaser for you guys, it's not quite finished because I'm working on the paint job for my Easy glider I want to fly tommorow.

Blimey, it makes my airbrushing look like Mark did it....
The acrylic paint should stick quite well, so long as you degreased the surface of the elalpor, before painting. I have used RC ar paints (lexan paint) with good results, as well as acrylics, and unless the surface has been degreased with a light solvent, the paint tends to flake off if impacted. I came to the conclusion that MPX use some kind of release agent in the moulds for the foam....

Re: Just a taster of my Xeno
Thanks guys, I'm not fishing for complements, I had a Yamaha bike win "best paint in show" at a Harley davidson show last year .........
This paint job is an experiment, it's a bit of a "lets try this" sort of thing and as such I didn't see the point in doing a "masterpiece", as I said, I've never painted elepor befor so I'm not sure how it will react or wear, time will tell!
Sam Wrote " Im not sure how long it will last on the orme tho, stay well clear of those rocks, did you glass it at all?"
I'm hoping that with the paint being acylic it should be fexible enough to withstand a few bumps. As regards glasssing it, TBH I hadn't thought of it
We'll see how it goes .....

Thats a good point about the release agent, I never even give it a thought Oh well, it is an experiment and the great thing about being the painter is if it needs touching up (No Puns lol) it's not a biggie.
Re: Just a taster of my Xeno
Which Harley show Marty the one in Oswestry, I used to work at that one with my son selling jewellery but I believe they've moved the venue to somewhere in Derbyshire as of last year.
Re: Just a taster of my Xeno
In my experience - the more hard stuff you put on EPPish models- the more damage you will have crashing it.
This material has very high surface something (tension ??don't know special word for it) it makes it look and feel like is greasy - but i'm 100% sure they don't use anything - it's just characteristic for moulding .
I just spoke to my suplier of epp and asked him if they use any grease - just for you Andy

Dunno, sorry. I actually prefer the little Orme when there is a nice gentle easterly, about 5-10mph, my little DLG really sparkles in those conditions....

Wicked finish, if it flys as good as it looks you are on to a winner.

Thanks m8, no reason for it not to be ok, the added weight is only a couple of onces and it's uniformly all over
(wait till you see the Easy glider!)
Re: Just a taster of my Xeno
Access to the Orme is pretty good. You can park along Penrhyn Beach East road, to the south East of the little orme, and walk up. It is about 4 minutes from the end of that road to the lower easterly slope, and about a bit of a walk up to the top of the quarry if you want more altitude

Re: Just a taster of my Xeno
Bloomin love it! I've got an Alula Evo - Nice for a chuck around in the work carpark, a Mini Fireworks (1m class dlg) nice and aerobatic, slopes well ina light blow, and a Blaster2 which amazes me with how much you can stretch the glide out.
I usually have one of the three with me at the field, so you are welcome to have a go
