I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

It wasn't quite breaking the sound barrier. The aircraft was moving probably a few 10's of knots below the local speed of sound, but due to the way the airflow interacts passing over the body of the aircraft, the air pressure drops locally enough to cause moisture to condense out, giving rise to the clouds of vapour that you can see. The distinct cone shape that you see are due to the airflow patterns arising from an aircraft approaching the speed of sound.
You can also see the same effect from aircraft travelling much slower, usually coming from the wingtips in the shape of a vortex....
