I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Mates ??
Been on a polar expedition to the Orme today, a party of three set out from basecamp for the westerly face two carrying the model in component form and yours truly bringing up the rear with the trannie. We reached the westerly lip where close on a steady 100 mph breeze did it's best to turn your nostrils inside out, good job I had a tight fitting hat on it stopped the snot coming out of my ears. The leader of our intrepid party silently decided we should press on down the "V" shaped gully to the level below, on reaching this lower level my two younger mates pressed on in front leaving me "Sherpa Onesong" to struggle with the ridiculously heavy JR trannie. My two mates reached what was to be the assembly point of the glider as I traversed the 45 degree plateau towards them I was brought crashing down as I stumbled in a tuft of dead heather banging my right knee on a well hidden rock. As I lay there now viewing my "mates" from a 90 degree perception I was greeted by the immortal uttering "Is the trannie OK" ( It bloody won't be next time thought I). That's mates for you

Re: Mates ??
I've often wondered if flying whilst lying down helps with keeping the up (and down) lines nice and tidy.....
Speaking of JR, is it wrong of me to want to spend crazy money on that new 12 channel 2.4GHz set they have out now?
Cheers

Re: Mates ??
Flying is like many good things in life Andy always experiment with different positions As for that trannie it would be a SIN
Re: Mates ??
I'll have to remember that next time I fall off my bike. The last position I experimented with was the "Superman dive to the left, with one half roll". looked impressive (so I am told) but didn't half shaft my shoulder!
As for a JR transmitter being a sin, then next on the list is a Futaba 12fg! I can't believe I am even considering defecting from my beloved Multiplex...

Re: Mates ??
Futaba-4-U, just done a check on 14MZ upgrades, once done the model data from 14MZ will be converted to 12FG or vicky-vircky 12FG to 14MZ format, so all you lot who fly cack handed will have no more excuses with not letting me fly your wonderful aeroplanes "Graphite" rings a bell or vicky-vircky you could fly mine "Yak" or even tow me up with a "Wilga" for a change comes to mind.
Re: Mates ??
I have to admit, the 12FG is looking pretty damn good at the moment. It seems to do all the funky mixing my Evo will do, yet has nicer stick units. It is better priced than the JR 12x too...
The only thing is the change in receivers I would need.....
Cheers
