I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Your bank?
Had reason to be grateful for my bank's vigilance today, their fraud prevention department just rang me and told me someone was trying to hit my Visa card for two and a half grand today Needless to say the card is now destroyed and a new one on route, thank God they're so switched on
Re: Your bank?
Lucky indeed as you rightly say it's good to see that banks are now trying to avoid customers the heartache and stress of having to deal with fraudulent withdrawals from their accounts by preventing them from occuring in the first place.

Turns out they want to give your money away before you can do anyting about it. my bank is lloyds tsb. i also pay for fraud protection. fat lot of use that was.

Re: Your bank?
I'm with HSBC and I obviously have to be grateful, I don't know whether it was the large amount that flagged it up would they have spotted it had it been smaller amount/s who knows
Re: Your bank?
Just to be better than the rest my card has been hit for £1900, 9th January 2009 I've cancelled card & left it with the fraud squad, the company they bought something from was www.microwarehouse.co.uk.
just had confirmation that the money will be refunded.

Re: Your bank?
Hi Rich, sorry to hear you've been hit, I've just checked my records and I used PayPal to deal with Windrider for my glider and that Visa card doesn't relate to my PP account, and anyway I think part of the deal when using PP is that they don't disclose details to the vendor. So I think that blows that theory, back to the drawing board. I reckon with times being hard allround and companies going bust all over the place more people are getting tempted into the fraud game
Re: Your bank?
Whoever it was had the goods shipped to somewhere in Hertfordshire, they wouldn't give me any detail due to the data protection act, funny that as someone gave these a***holes my details.

Re: Your bank?
It must be the season to be Jolly, and spend other peoples money. Just found out my emergency credit card has been done for almost 5 grand a week before christmas. It would have been more, but I only had a 5K limit on it. How on earth they got the numbers and details for it, I don;t know. I have only used it twice, ever! Once to buy a jet engine*, and the second to pay for a flight home about 3 years ago.....
Still, the nice man that the Halifax has sorted me out, it's all going to be wiped out, and their fraud team on the case..
Cheers
Andy
* yes it was an emergency...

FFS!
Just had a call from the Credit Card chaps again. Some little scrote has put another £2k on my replacement card without me knowing! I'm now officially suspecting all petrol stations as being dodgy. I have only used my replacement card for paypal transactions, and paying for diesel, and somehow my details and number has been stolen....

He phoned me by mobile to say the card had been rejected
Could I tell the bank to release it

They gave me a number that got him straight thro

Bank Fraud
Whilst in south wales last month I went to a hole in the wall and drew out some money the next day I noticed on my internet account that two lots of 30 pounds had been drawn out the next day,I had not used the account that day. On ringing the bank they infomed me that they had just stopped two further withdrawals one for £86 & one for over £200. I then informed them of the other two at £30 and they passed it all to their fraud team. Two days later I had the £60 refunded. So I am well pleased with the service. I now only use my visa card and transfer money from the debit card to the visa account to cover it. I find it safer to use this system.
