I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Gum Cam
Just finished my Camera mount for the Gum Cam. I can now pan the camera 360 deg and using the servo slow in the TX this takes around 11 seconds and is very smooth. The original idea was for marine use but it may appear on the nose of my 600 nitro. Am am thinking of running it off a seperate TX so we can try some panning shots at the field.

Blimey, that's cheap.
Has anyone put on the scales yet? Also, what are they like with ratehr high accelerations? I'm wondering if one would survived being strapped to a small, but rather fast, rocket....

You can borrow mine if you want - but I doubt very much that a vapor will lift it and still fly well.[u]Sam Thomas wrote:I want to try one of these on my vapor with a 150!!!

Re: Gum Cam
Well its worth a shot, even if I can just fly a couple of rough circuits, it would make a pretty cool indoor shotTim wrote:You can borrow mine if you want - but I doubt very much that a vapor will lift it and still fly well.[u]Sam Thomas wrote:I want to try one of these on my vapor with a 150!!!

"All unmanned aircraft, not just ones that weigh 15lb (7kg) or more, now have to be licensed to conduct aerial surveillance work after the law changed at the start of the year"
Are we conducting surveilance work or are we filming just for our own amusement.

LOL
They will never catch us, the coppa's round here arent up to scratch, all they do is pull people over and fine them!
They wont think of coming on the orme or the field just to check that they dont have any 'survalance' equipment on it.

Re: Gum Cam
Not really sure Rich....what exactly defines "surveillance" - flying over our site is surely a form of surveillance - especially as by "accident" this could encompass neighbouring houses etc?? Dunno...just thought it was worth mentioning - perhaps the committee could investigate the rules....for the sake of club compliance IYSWIM.
