I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Work party required 10.3.12
Saturday 10th March a work party is required to help with some field work to get us ready for the season.
Jobs will include
Installing new corner posts
General tidy of the pits area
There may be lots to do or nothing to do but many hands make less work.
Times to be confirmed. It would be nice to have to many hands as we will all benefit in the long run

If anybody has a wheel barrow for mixing the concrete & some water containers, I have a few black buckets to take water from the stream.
I'll chuck my strimmer in for the work around the tree & pegboard box, a spirit level for the post work & some yellow marker paint to get the direction of the taxiway from the strip towards the pits right.

The best solution for the concrete is 'postcrete'. You simply pour the dry mix from the bag down the hole then pour in some water. Very efficient and effective. I've used it several times, it saves loads of hassle

I was planning on bringing a barrow plus hole digging tools. Not sure of their proper name but these are like scissor action front to front spoons. Again very effective except in rocky ground. A piece of tarpulin or thick plastic to put on the ground to catch the soil could be useful

I have a punner (long heavy metal pole with a 6" square metal foot on) for tamping down the dry concrete mix, and a pick axe for stoney ground if it helps! - Still need to know times though - If I cant make it someone can pick them up from me, or I can leave them by the field box before saturday!
