I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

May 4th - Club Night!
All,
May 4th will be the first official outdoor clubnight at the new field. We shall be running the first round of the club night competition series - 2017 edition, namely the climb and glide round. There's no restriction on what you fly, or how you fly it. everyone is encouraged to enter, it's not a serious competition, just a bit of fun! The rules are as follows:
1. You shall launch model (by hand, or off the ground) on the official official's command, at which point a 30 second timer shall be started.
2. You shall climb your model to the heavens for 30 seconds, at which point the Official Official shall shout at you to turn your motor off, or cut your engine (bringing it to idle is acceptable, although I'll be watching for sneaky blips of throttle, and high idles!).
3. You shall glide down to a landing, at which point the timer shall be stopped.
4. The aim is to have the longest time in the air. Longer flight = more points.
5. There shall be a spot landing bonus available.
6. There shall be an "entertaining flight" bonus too. A boring glide = no bonus points. Much aerobatics and tomfoolery on the way down = many bonus points!
As always, the Official Official's word is final!
We shall hopefully having a BBQ too, so bring your 50p's if you want a burger or sausage-inna-bun, so see you there!

Re: May 4th - Club Night!
The official results are in! The delay was due to a stewards inquiry going on a little longer than anticipated. The turnout was great, the standard of flying was good too. Mostly. So, in no particular order:
Andy K - Excalibur electric glider. 4m 39s. No spot landing bonus, basic aeros bonus, and a tailslide bonus point. Total points awarded - 285
Tony Why - HK Tundra electric 1m 47s. Draggy airframe bonus. half throttle climb bonus. Spot landing bonus. Total points awarded - 276
Jeremy - Electric fusion - 3m 32s. Strip landing bonus. Basic aerobatics bonus. Dangerous flying anti-bonus. Spot landing bonus. Total points awarded - 279
Tim - Electric Walrus - 7m 12s. Boring flight anti-bonus. Nearly killed the official Official anti-bonus. Toital points awarded - (minus) -21.
Barnes, M. Electric fusion - 2m 2s. One handed gliding bonus. Strip landing bonus. - total points awarded - 276
Andy S. Graphite electric glider. 8m 40s. Super boring flight anti-bonus. Big flaps and still not able to hit the spot anti-bonus - Total points awarded - 276.
Everyone who came to watch, 2 points.
So there you go. Andy K has stormed into the lead after the first round of competition. Everyone else is hot on his heels, apart from Tim, who has negative points to make up. Good luck for the next round!
