Saturday 7/7/18

2018-07-07, 21:07 by Gary M Jones

I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Maintenance Empty Maintenance

Post by Brian Colclough 2013-01-28, 17:41

Started working my way through my gear in the hope of better weather being round the corner, had a couple of R/X nihm packs in my gliders that took 4 or 5 cycles to get back up to speed, at first I thought they were goners. I've also ordered new servos for the Sbach as they've been jittering for a couple of seasons now and I'd already subtrimmed them a couple of times to offset the pots which did mute the jittering for a while but it's time to bite the bullet and splash the cash. I've gone for 4 of a fairly new Hitec offering HS-5585MH They're a budget priced digi which are high voltage tolerant and metal geared. The specs plenty good enough for a 50 cc model. They're fairly new to the market so haven't found any reviews at all so chancing my arm a little but I've had good service with Hitecs in the past. Watch this space I suppose What a Face

My 2 pence if you don't mind ?
There is a very high percentage of them not working out of the box :/
Hitec exchanges them with no problems - but still - at this price all should be checked for any faults before sending from the factory.
I got annoyed at one point and now before sending to customer I just run it for a moment on the servo tester - had no reports of them stopping work tho, our test model aerodepron Ram - was flown hard by Connor and he didn't manage to kill them.
All in all it's a bad thing - only competition in this class is dymond, sd and lsx - apart from that those are the same servos - the lsx looks like are no longer distributed in the UK.
JR are also very good - but 1.5g heavier so if the weight is on the scale then might be an issue .
Sorry for cutting in Wink

As you say rob, not a lot of choice in this size its a pain. As Gary says tp 5grm are fine for most things I've got over 20 of them but some toys require more speed and accuracy
