I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

"Dump Thump". I like that image.
The velcro straps would probably be okay (maybe double up, two shear straps per pack) but the thing to bear in mind, is the load going through the structure where the straps are wrapped around. That is the bit most likely to fail, so the thing to do, is make sure the load is spread out as good as possible. A good, lightweight way to acheive this, is to use aluminum strips/sheet to protect any wood from point loads where the straps wrap around (ie. corners etc)....

other issue is the packs need to sit abit further forward than they are in the pic, getting them in there and strapping and connecting is going to be a reet bottom!
Im thinking a removable tray to atach the lipos to nice and tight, then slide the try in and bolt in place (if you see what i mean)

Leave the packs where they are, and put a bigger motor in.....

Or, build a ply box for the cells to sit in, that is bolted in place (use a tongue/groove at the front, and a bolt at the back). Make it like a power "module" that only needs good access at the back for the hold down bolt.

nah this one is big enough ( toying with the idea of a 20s setup for next year mind)
They need to go in line with the cowl so not to bad.
Box is a good idea but worried about weight the compy is already 21lb, 3lb heavier than the Raven
