I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ

RIP "S" Bach
I took the landing gear out of the Sbach yesterday and thought it was going to be a relatively straightforward repair as it was last time. However last time I'd done some strengthening around the gear mount and this time said strengthening had done quite extensive damage to the engine box and the lower half of the cowl so after a good examination after breakfast this morning I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement from Peak Models website and thanks to a good dollar rate even with a considerably higher carriage charge than before it's only set me back a tad over 300 smackers so not too bad when you say it quickly. This'll make the third one now but I just love the airframe and engine combo and I'd feel lost without one in the trailer.
Re: RIP "S" Bach
That's a shame Brian, I do keep looking at them on Peak as you seem to like yours so much great price for a 50.

Yeh I've loved it since the first one I had Mark, I even like the "Thunderbolt" colour scheme, the cowl swallows the 55 with very little hacking and cools the motor well. Their 50-60cc range is great bang for buck and I was pleasantly surprised with the current dollar rate just hope it gets passed HMRC as the other two did

You certainly had your moneys worth out of that one Bri but it's always a sickener when you lose a plane like that one.

Well it'll leave me with plenty of spares Mike, a pair of wings albeit one with torn covering where the spat went through and a full set of tail feathers and my old alloy undercarriage is still OK so I shan't lose too much sleepMike S wrote:You certainly had your moneys worth out of that one Bri but it's always a sickener when you lose a plane like that one.![]()

Re: RIP "S" Bach
Sbach number 3 is in the UK (Coventry to be exact) bad news is it's been handed over to customs according to the tracking site. Into each life a little rain must fall

Re: RIP "S" Bach
Should find out tomorrow how much duty I've got to pay HMC to spring Sbach 3 from their clutches. It took three days to get across China to Guangzhou and from their to Coventry then thanks to UK efficiency it's taken twice as long to get from Coventry to Deeside where it now languishes

Re: RIP "S" Bach
Paid up this morning so should hopefully have it tomorrow providing they can find my place. Cost me £53.50 (in total) import duty + handling charge + VAT hey ho

Re: RIP "S" Bach
350 odd for a 50cc plane is still not to shabby

Indeed Mark I'm still happy at the overall cost, at least I won't get flack this time from within the club for tax avoidanceMark Barnes wrote:350 odd for a 50cc plane is still not to shabby

Re: RIP "S" Bach
S bach 3 arrived today, they've made some changes to the fus and the wings. The old type wings will not fit this new fus. All the surfaces barring the rudder are hinged and glued, I think the only reason the rudder's not glued is keep the fus to a decent length for the box. The decals are better but less in number. If the weather forecasts correct I should have plenty of time to kit it out this weekend ready for maiden next week
