I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

It'll probably fly better with another sticky out bit on the other side, unless of course you plan on control line Very Happy
Nice work there Leigh. Cool

Blimey, you are turning into a proper CAD monkey Leigh!

What are you planning on skinning the wings with? If it is balsaYou may want to put a brace in the front cutout of the wing ribs to stiffen them in compression. (instead of a square cutout with rounded edges, make them triangular). It probably wont affect the flying qualities much, but it will really cut down the hangar rash damage when picking up the wing panels!

Cheers for the help at the field today too Smile

Aye, the brain is in overdrive at the moment! I've whipped the fuel pump out, and it seems to work fine on the bench. I have nothing to compare it against though. None of the pump data is available (voltage/current curves, flow rates etc etc.) Sad

I'll get there though Smile

I've just spied the wing joiner holes are offset from the spars/spar web on you image too. You might want to check that the load paths from the spars can be fed through the joiner structure and into the joiner tube adequately. It looks like the joiner tube is set back a bit far from the spars from the image you posted (it could be an optical illusion though). If so, you are relying on the tension/compression and brazier loads to be transferred from the spars, to the ribs/skin and then into the wing joiner. I would be tempted to put a stub spar aft of the wing joiner tube in that case, or possibly even move the joiner forward to be closer to the spars (ideally on the same axis as them).

Crikey Leigh...you are busy boy eh! Lovely work there, and I really must get to learn how to use CAD.
I hear you had a mishap with the big Sabre ?
What happened...you throw a blade or summat?

I'm offering CAD lessons for beginners Tim Smile It's going to be part of the service I offer when my new business gets off the ground!

Looks good Leigh, Don't forget to take photos when you get around to cutting the parts out, and building it!

Sounds good to me!

Aye, been to Weston today. Just got back. I was going to stay over, but I'm mega busy at the moment. Starting this new job so quickly has really thrown me, and I need to do some work tomorrow now Sad

Hopefully Tim,

I've got a load of work to do first, and I need to pop over to see my Dad, and present him with the Annual Bottle Of Gin (ABOG if you like your acronyms) Smile

What time are you planning on going down? I'll bring the camera with me anyway!

Well didnt realize it was going to be peeing down again today :-(
IF the weather improves and the grass is short then I expect to get down late afternoon early evening...say around 5 ish ? I could really do with knowing how the strip is because as you know I wont attempt ROG unless its short, and preferably dry.
Any way of finding out before I make the drive ?

I'm not going to be passing that way until I go there later. Maybe worth sending Rich Badham a message, I know he usually cuts the grass for us (and of course we are all incredibly grateful, and appreciative of the cracking job he does!)
