I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

We had a young lad, Luke Jackson, flying his first year in IMAC this season and he was using one of the early Global 50cc Yaks and his dad who had put it together for him hadn't got a good word to say for it. He had a lot of trouble with the fit and alignment of the tailfeathers. All that said I believe their later models have now improved but I have no "hands on" to speak of. I'm just putting together an Edge from Peak Models and according to Mark they have links to Goldwing RC. I'm well pleased with the model it's almost ready for a maiden so I can't give you a flight report yet GLOBALRC Icon_wink

Corect Globle also buy from Goldwing and the gen3 models are reportedly fantstic ive no real first hand other than the range overlander bring in (the smaller models) and the latest stuff is great.

Globle are the best place to buy in the UK for >26cc as they are the importers have a look on www.highalpha.org for buildthreads on the gen3 range

The reason I ask is it is being reported that a DL50 is to much for the 80'' Edge 540T that I have (flying at 1/4 throttle and unlimited verticle at 1/2 plus problems landing). So I thought I would look for a future home for the DL50. I also like the look of the smaller Su 26 http://globalrc.co.uk/sukhoi%20su26%2026cc.html

Mark, touch of brain fade, what a dumbo. I remember, the one that lost the canopy in the IMAC comp. 23cc glow in one or would that be too much?
Brian, nothing special. It's a CMPro one; Hitec HS 645's (digital on rudder), Spektrum 9000 + 2 sat. rx powered by A123 cells . I've been following the build thread on RCUniverse and a 50cc looked the way to go, so I got a DL50 for it. But its only just 80", comes out well under 7Kg and the opinion on the thread is that a 40cc motor would be more suited (you can have too much power - stopping it flying at tickover so you can land). I thought the GlobalRC MX2 looked good (followed the build thread on high alpha forum).

It was the smaller one that lost the canopy, the big yellow one stayed on the ground that day, 26cc is ideal for it i was tempted to put the DLE30 in it but really need to sort the electric set up

Many thanks Brian, I think I've seen all the MX2 vids available by now Very Happy . I think the one with the link from the Globalrc site is the best Very Happy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94pIMuIExtk
I particularly like the music 'on a ragga tip', it goes well with the routine. Anyways, got one on order plus a little something else to be picked up at the start of January, at this years VAT rate Smile . Followed both build threads on HA forum and going the DL50, HD 9150 servos etc route. Got everthing for it except the manifold and cannister, SWB arms and of coarse the plane itself. Looks like I will have to get a 'B' cert in 2010, after all it will be 30 years since I got my 'A' Embarassed .
Started the Edge 540t and I'm going to try my Moki 210 in it, that should use up some of my stock of glow fuel affraid .There's no way I could fly, even remotely, like that in the vid but I thought I would have a go at something a little larger before Mr. G. Reaper comes knocking at my door.
I'll be setting up a stall at the field latter next year selling bags of firewood (ex airframes affraid ) and scrap metal (ex engines affraid )
