I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Just cut the strip PM today, we now have a mix of mutton and beef on the field the sheep are ewes with lambs at foot. As yet there's no signs of the sheep having been under the wire and onto the strip but I'm sure they will do eventually.

Thanks Brian - good info. Glad to see the "cut" notifications are continuing - I for one find it useful to know the strip grass will be good and short - affects which models I choose to bring ( once I have re-assembled my summer fleet of those with wheels LOL )

Yeah, leccy fences don't work well on woollybacks. Fortunately they don't do much damage to the strip

Should we be considering moving the lower fence wire up a bit, so they don't pull it down by accident? Or would that be risking a beef incursion?

Biggest risk is the ewes which are practically insulated from "shock" by their wool will rub/scratch against the fence posts and bring down the fence and thus allow access to the strip for the bullocks with all the attendant damage. Other than vigilance there's little we can do.

Good call Andy we'll move the lower fence up a bit just to at least help the situation.

Still brilliant news less grass on the outfield for the first time in quite a long time.

We should all take extra care to ensure the posts are pushed right into the ground.
