Multi rotor "A" Test pass

Well done to Mr Andy Sayle, who succsesfuly passed his multirotor A test last night.

Andy demostrated great quad control and exalent craft knowlage, If a little argumentative.

On a related note, anyone flying Multirotors in the club, get this test done. It is veeeerrry simple to do, an afternoon of practice flying in manual mode, and you should be reet Let's see if we can become the UK's most prolific club in terms of A cert multirotor pilots!

Yes could do with dedicating an afternoon to manual flying only to try and get it sussed.

gerrit done Pete, you will be fine. slow and steady is the key. Andy had near perfect conditions last night which helped, all be it a little low on light.

One thing I did notice last night is the smaller 330FL was eaier to fly the test than the heavier TBS disco, the added mass on the disco made it want to accelerate faster through the "lazy 8`s" requiring more user input to slow her back down.

Both flew it fine just a little easier with thr LF

The other thing I had done to the setup for the test, is put a bucket full of expo on the aileron/elevator to tame it down around neutral.  Makes it super docile.  I also put a bit of a throttle curve in there to calm the throttle response down a bit around the hover point too.

You can do the same for the 450 sized quads too, you would just need to spend a few flights setting it up and getting used to it.

I think I will keep the throttle curve, it does make for easier hovering in manual modes. The expo is something I will probably reduce somewhat, possibly even switch in and out during a flight.

Just like any other BMFA test. A well set up aircraft makes the job a whole lot easier

And a well setup TX. That smoother throttle stick makes a world of difference!

It still feels a bit weird though. A bit like wearing new shoes....

I've tried the 450 with 50% expo and rates, it doesn't feel to bad but if not careful it will speed up on the figure of 8 and then I get in trouble.

I will have ago with the 330 and see how it goes.
