I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

We saw one of these whilst on our holidays at Appledore in Devon lat week.
Just on the edge of the harbour near high water at a boat access slipway.
About 7 foot tall overall and the hanging disc at the the bottom was swinging in the breeze

Has anyone any idea what it is for and what it does?

Seems its more for "entertainment" rather than excessive tides, and several more are planned for around our coastline - including Aberdovy later this month.

1st prize to Tim.
Well spotted
There was no information about it there.

Seems it generates various musical harmonic pitches depending on the degree of high tide and wave frequency.
