Gate post broken

Sun Aug 27, 2017 8:42 pm by Gary M Jones

Just in case anyone is not aware, the main gate post at the field entrance is broken at its base just at ground level. ( the bolt side post) The post is only supported by the fencing attached to it. If the fencing fails then the post will fall and …

My Cockup

Post by Brian Colclough on Fri Jul 15, 2011 5:31 pm

For those of you who weren't at club night to witness the event here's the sobering tale of my mishap last night. Having just flown my 50cc Sbach I taxied it back to the pits, on arriving at the pits I grabbed the tail of the model and wheeled it back to the trailer engine running intending to check the engine temperature with my temperature gun. I kept hold of the tail with one hand whilst attempting to get the tail back in my restraint with the other, whilst doing this my T/X was round my neck the throttle stick caught my chest and the model went full throttle pulling me off balance and causing me to lose my grip on the tail. The result being the model careered across the pit lane thankfully no one in the way and careered into my Ultimate parked opposite quite badly damaging both models. The moral of this tale is if you must attempt this sort of thing don't have your trannie slung on a neckstrap. It's going to be an expensive lesson for me but I'm eternally grateful that no one was injured in the creation of this sad tale Embarassed

Have you decided to bypass the flying bit then Barnes, and just go straight on to buying the damage? Saves a lot of time I guess....

Just unpacked and checked, slight split in the cowl ring easily fixed, and they've sent me the 342 this time ie 2 seater as opposed to single slot. I'm quite pleased it's a 342 as it's more scale as the full size Thunderbolt one was a 2 seater. Cool As for the damaged one I'll be keeping as spares, sorry Mark

Shame on the ring but 342 is better looking anyway.

I must be jinxed with this Sbach, had it on charge outside this morning ready for the field when my beloved hound gives chase to a squirrel and you've guessed it clattered into the front of the model so the cowls second hand before I even start Suspect Never mind I can fly it like I stole it now Wink
