I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Some photos from today, as Mark's already said he maidened his Raven, there's a couple of photos of that and then there's a couple of the mini-aerotow display put on by Andy and Mark. Sorry the airborne shots are a bit naff but the light really was crap

Well, where do you start, just after take off an aileron stopped working, then the elevator would only operate at about 1/3 travel, managed to get an approach sorted only for the engine to fall off & hang on in there by the throttle linkage, luckily the fuel feed came of at the same time stopping the engine, to be fair to Mark he managed to fight it until the final moment when it stalled breaking the wing/fuz side & rudder.
All in all a really good day, not to much of a job to repair should be ready for July/August

Rich dosnt quite remember it correctly,
After lots of ground running, a final check of everything was made then it was time to maiden, took off loverly and into a few triming curcits. all was well with just a mental note of more downthrust needed. Landing was called and on finals it didnt want to shut the motor so I turned away then all hell broke loose.
The plane I think flicked on its back and proformed the maddest flat spin ive ever seen then whent quiet, the lads called the engine was hanging off while I was wresteling to get it level. I let it drift to the far field and kept the wings level for a landing.
All in all not that bad, a propstrike to the LE of the wing and abit of danage to the can tunnel and throttle servo mount. It apears that the standoffs had vibrated loose.
Very thankfull I didnt have the cowl on and that would have screwed it.
Thanks To Rich for all his help, and Bri and Mike as well for helping me reclaim the airframe.
Love this hobby I do.

I thought the whole point of an aerotow was to get a glider upwards, quickly?!

Its also advicable for the glider to be behind the tug too and not infront.

That was only a problem when you insisted we did a proper tow launch, instead of going vertical!
Plus, that funky flat spin/loop thing that my plane did was pretty funky!

Nope, it was only a flying visit from me. Got home from my parents early, and the Wench gave me a pass out for a couple of hours. I had to make a sharp exit to make it back home in time for bathtime....
