I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ .

Getting gear ready
I've started getting gear ready for the arrival of my new 50cc model. I did initially think of using A123 batteries but I have already got some lipos sitting idle in my old 80cc Extra and as I don't have a charger for A123's, and also not being lipo phobic, I decided to use my old Kokams. In my Extra I had the Emcotec servo control system/voltage reg but I think this is a little over the top in a 50cc model and a weight penalty to boot so I've opted for this Dualsky dual voltage reg complete with fail safe switch.
Next I've bought this on board opto isolator switch, which gives you control of your ignition from the trannie, so you can either switch off your ignition from the relevant switch on the T/X or if you switch off the T/X it kills the ignition. I've already fitted one of these in my Ultimate and it works a treat and personally at only £11 from Robert at Innovative R/C I think they're a must. I've already had two occasions where I've had a petrol model go full throttle due to servo or linkage problems and flying round for half an hour trying to minimize airspeed and waiting for the fuel to run out is no joke believe me.

Re: Getting gear ready
I've got one of them Kill switches on my Red 50ccer (what is it again Barnes?) It works well, and the little red light, is very bright, and very red.
I went for simplicity on mine though, no lipos, regulators and faff, just a 2s A123 rx pack, connected to the receiver through a solid state switch. Job done.
I've been told that real carbon is so 2010 too. Imitation carbon is where it is at this year.....

Re: Getting gear ready
A follow up on this the RCeXL opto switch, I bought for the Sbach, doesn't work. At first I thought I'd been supplied a duff one but having slept on it I reckon it doesn't like the low signal voltage supplied by my 6014 (just 2.7V) so before condemning it I'm going to try a signal booster on it.
