New design prop

Post by Brian Colclough on Fri Mar 25, 2011 4:18 pm

Have come across this on FG, it's a new style prop obviously and is out on a trial basis with some flyers at the moment. Interesting in as much as the tips run in advance of the main part of the blade whereas preceding types of scimitar style props have had the tip trailing the blade. Early reports suggest a 700 rpm increase over a similar diameter and pitch conventional prop on a 55cc petrol and supposedly quieter. Watch this space I guess !

Not quite extreme but that prop I got from Elster Modellbau was of a similar design.

I new I was ahead of the game just the prop was too much for the 100cc

Surely that's the point - its not like the conventional one - the sweep is opposite.
