Has anyone tried these?

It's nearly time to start the 700 build but I can't decide which servos to use.
I was thinking either,
JR8917HV 8 volt servo's,
Futaba brushless 451's which I have on another model,which work flawlessly.
Now I'd like 8 volt servos for the clean look without a regulator.
Now I've been looking at these,

They haven't been out long so there's not much feedback available yet.
Has anyone tried these Outrage servos or do you know of anyone using them?
They also do a tail servo with a speed of 0.03 @ 8V,holy shmokes!

I've not tried them, but the specs look really impressive! It's about time the shift over to servos that are safe for use on 2s lipo voltages started gaining momentum...

As for the clean, regulator less look, have you thought of trying A123 cells? I'm going to be using a 2s 2300mAh pack on my 700, unregulated (well, apart from to the gyro/tail servo, but that will go through one of the 7100r receivers with it's internal reg....)

There are two different cell capacities, 1100mAh, and 2300mAh. The cell voltage is 3.3v under a slight load (1 or 2C), dropping down to approx 3.0v under a heavy load (15C or so). Of the charger they are typically around 3.7v or so. Basically any servo that works okay on an un-regulated 5 cell Nimh pack, will work great on a 2s A123 pack....

They can be parallelled up to increase the capacity though. I have used them in all my jets, and a single 2s 2300mAh pack is quite capable of driving 6 high power digital servos, and a couple of lower power servos on a fairly quick moving jet. I used to have three flights before recharging, and even then I rarely put back more than about 1000mA into the pack. I suspect they might take a bit more of a battering in a big chopper, but I'm quite confident they will hold up nicely.

They sound perfect for the bls451's.Hmm,I've just spotted the JR 8717HV full metal jackets and they also look nice,even more expensive though.
Oh Andy I forgot to tell you,chicks dig well prepared carbon fibre edges now,slop free linkages was last year.

It's a 3600 pack,although out of stock at the moment,is this also an A123 pack?

No, although the chemistry is broadly similar to that used in the A123 packs. Where they differ is in the A123's better handling of large current draws. Basically, the A123 cells are the next generation of Lifepo cells, due to the construction techniques within the cell itself (IIRC, A123 systems call it nano phosphates or something like that).

That said, those packs do seem to be rated high enough for use as an RX pack. They seem quite expensive though. A decent 2s 2300mAh pack should set you back about £25 or so...

Oh, and the A123 packs take a 5C charge without breaking sweat, so if your charger can chuck out 10 Amps, you can be fully charged from flat in about 12 minutes.....
