Gate post broken

Sun Aug 27, 2017 8:42 pm by Gary M Jones

Just in case anyone is not aware, the main gate post at the field entrance is broken at its base just at ground level. ( the bolt side post) The post is only supported by the fencing attached to it. If the fencing fails then the post will fall and …

Club Night - Thursday 26th August

Post by Andy Sayle on Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:40 am

Morning all.

It's Thursday again, and that means two things. First of all the canteen at work have got curry on, and secondly, it's club night at the field!

The weather forecast for this afternoon is not too bad, overcast with a little breeze, but no rain apparently. Anyone heading over for some flying?

Andy

Quick update:

The weather is looking alright, weak sunshine and a small breeze in St Asaph at the moment. The Curry of the Day was Chicken Korma, and was fantastic.

Allan, has the farmer put a new bunch of bullocks on the field, or is it the usual lot?

Had a blast tonight flew my much loved Fun Queue, with the FrSky module & 8 channel receiver, no problems at all also got some height & turned the Transmitter off, went into failsafe then switched back on, reboot time is approx. 2 seconds, still seems to last forever on a 6oz tank

That's ok on the diameter but you should really go with a lesser pitch for funfly type models as the engine picks up revs a lot quicker when you get lowish down & dirty where you need it, also funfly models shouldn't be flown fast as this causes the controls to flutter 4" or 5" pitch is perfect.

In theory an 6" pitch flys forward 6" per rev as per 4" with a 4" pitch prop.

I'm not saying you fly to fast it's just a general comment, I think you a flying very well, keep praticing

Thumbs up on the cheapy HK Rx units too - specked out, immediate re-boot after brown out in testing, and switching off the Tx showed arouns 3 seconds to re-connect - waaaaaay out past park fly range, and therefore damn good VFM.
Got the Mig dogfish flown too, and its behaving a lot better since a few mods .

Hey folks,

Last night was a top turnout! Soem novel methods of shooing the bullocks away were employed, and a fair bit of flying going on too. I had a few chucks of the chucky glider, not much lift about, but always good for a laugh. I also managed to explode a motor during an awesome touch and go with the flying wing. The new receivers Tim has, and Richies Frsky kit seem to work really well too.

Oh, and a couple of mugshots of those presented with the new Silent Flight (Electric) A certificate (click to enlarge)

Well done Rich, and er, Me!

Andy
