I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Afternoon all.

I picked up a prop or two at Weston park over the weekend, and I need to drill a set of holes to suit the dle 55. That is no problem, but could anyone tell me what angle the prop should be set at in relation to TDC? I'm assuming it needs to be about vertical with the engine set at TDC....

Cheers

If you set the bolt pattern at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock then it will be right put the prop at 12, 6 o'clock on compression

Cheers Rich.

I gave the prop a good drilling, followed by a good reaming too. It's all balanced and installed, and the SU26 is almost ready for an engine run Smile Just need to sort out the batteries and switch now, and we are ready to go.... Methinks I'll bring it for an airing on Thursday....

As you already mentioned Andy preparation of a prop is very important and the fact that you took your time giving it a good drilling and a good reaming will give you endless hours of fun. Suspect

Indeed. I did find that it all happened a bit quickly though, so on the next one, I shall take my time, and savour the moment.

Timing is not the issue Andy, its the good reaming that usually makes up for the short fall !
