I was at the field today between 14:00 & 15:00 all on my own , good flying too. There is a dead sheep along the fence line towards the gate from the pits, I saw the farmer so reported this to her. I hope no one had plans for a BBQ Smile .

Right, what you guys using for desktop PSU`s and mine Shite itsself last night charging 2x 10s 5000mah so i need a new one else my flying time will suffer,

I've got a couple of cheapy 500 watt PC power supplies off of ebay for about £4 each a while back. They were plenty beefy enough to charge a 10s 5Ah pack, with one Caveat. You have to have a load on the 5v line, in order for the 12v line to regulate properly. I do this by using a car brake lamp bulb. This has the added benefit of providing a bit of light, and an indicator that the PSU is switched on....

I've also heard good reports of people using Server power supplies that are rated up to about 1kw each (approximately 55 amps available on the 12v line).

Or, if you want to spend a bit of cash, get a decent "lab grade" one. Here's a good one, we had a couple of them at the last place I worked:

they are actually using the power supply to charge the batteries not to power the charger

Luckely Ive found a 12v batt with some life in so charging has commenced for todays flying

maas 25a 13.6v regulated psu (available SMC as 25A or 40A)
or
110 AH Sport leisure/ starter battery from M/C batteries near Glan Clwyd
